Contracts are a good thing in business, as they offer a measure of protection for both parties. However, sometimes a contract can be expensively restrictive if it doesn’t have some flexibility built in. If you’re a business that is considering adding merchant services accounts you want to make sure that the agreement that works for your business today will work a year from now when business has, hopefully, improved. Because studies have shown that accepting credit cards is likely to drive additional business your way. So if you services contract isn’t ready to grow with you, you could see a big chunk of your profits ends up in someone else’s pocket.
