Back in the crowd, here’s Asia’h Epperson. She gets a montage that’s pretty serious, so we’ll guess that she doesn’t suck, but this season is all about the curveballs. Two days ago, she called her father to tell him that she was auditioning for American Idol and a half an hour after that fatal call, her father was killed in a gruesome car accident.
Paula likes how she dressed to impress. She plays the dead father card right off the bat and chooses to pay tribute to her father with – a Leanne Rimes song “How Do I Live”. She starts off strong but falls apart at the end. She can’t even hit the chorus but Simon says “you sang that very well.” Unanimous yeses from the judges and she’s in.
And then long montage that ends with Paula who walks off crying.
